September 2008

R/S Eden, the 1930s classic motoryacht that in 2007 completed a major rebuild in conjunction with RSD, has now completed her first full year since her relaunch, and her captain Alan Light estimates that the 51-metre yacht has covered at least 8,500 nm over the last twelve months.

Following her relaunch Eden overwintered for 2007 / 08 in the port of Hurghada on the Red Sea coast of Egypt and completed her shakedown process in the sunshine before in the spring heading for Bodrum in Turkey for some fine-tuning before she embarked on a busy charter season.

Highlights of the summer included a leisurely four week cruise that took her from Portofino, down the western coast of Italy and past Sicily before crossing the Ionian Sea to finish at Corfu.  A quick turnaround and then it was off again to pick up guests in Dubrovnik for a two-week voyage that ended in Venice.

Alan further reports that Eden has performed superbly despite her hectic schedule and her classic good looks have turned heads wherever she has gone.  Anyone who wishes to find out more about chartering this most beautiful of yachts should contact Edmiston and Co. on + 377 93 30 54 44
