Rainsford Mann Design is currently developing a striking 86-metre superyacht under an agreement put in place at FLIBS 2007. The yacht is to be constructed by renowned US builder Derecktor Shipyards and a scale model of this exciting project was on display at this year’s Monaco and Fort Lauderdale boat shows .
The RMD team is responsible for both designing the entire exterior concept of this yacht and devising the interior block plan based on a proven Derecktor 86m hull. Projects such as this have distinct advantages for clients who cannot or do not want to wait too long for a new build of this magnitude. With hull dimensions known from the outset and external parameters already drawn the design team can move straight on to other aspects of the design.
The RMD 86-metre will feature all the very latest technology in order to provide the best in luxury, speed, endurance and security. The design process progressing well; with exterior styling confirmed the RMD project team is now concentrating on the interior layout.
RMD is at the cutting edge of twenty-first century yacht design, offering the full spectrum of services — from naval architecture to exterior styling and interior design. RMD has a reputation for inventive designs that use the latest technologies and materials to create striking yachts that offer the ultimate in luxurious cruising capability. The 86-metre continues the RMD theme of creating yachts that are innovative, secure and environmentally friendly.
