Space Planning

Space planning is the first stage of the yacht design process and defines the layout of the interior space.

Through space planning RMD aims to create a dynamic journey through the space utilising available volume to its maximum.

Initially our clients are presented with hand drawn sketch layouts which once approved are transposed to 2D CAD computer line drawings.

While designing the layout RMD will consider the navigation of guests and crew through the space defining the boundaries between private and public, utilising full beam and natural light where possible.

Ultimately each layout is created to suit the requirements of the client, and we pride ourselves in working meticulously in considering all options to obtain the most practical yet inventive solutions.
