RMD design completes schemes for the interiors of super yachts.

Having fully analysed the lifestyle and on-board requirements for the interior space of our clients, RMD will undertake a series of strategic design stages known as the Design Process. The stages are as follows:

Stage 1- Space Planning
Designing the general arrangement and layout of the interior space.

Stage 2- Concept Design
A series of conceptual design options examining and proposing the overall look and feel of the interior.

Stage 3- Material + Product Spec.
The specification of materials and their finishes and the sourcing of products for the interior such as furniture, soft furnishings and sanitary ware.

Stage 4- Detail Design
This is the interpretation of the conceptual designs into dimensioned detail drawings
for submission to the shipyard.

Stage 5- Design Management
The management and assurance of quality and design integrity during the manufacturing process.

RMD use a variety of formats to communicate and record the Design Process such as Alias Wavefront Animations, 3D computer perspectives, hand drawn sketches, 2D CAD drawings, material boards and physical modelling.

Our wide knowledge of international manufacturers allows us to source the most compatible products and materials for each project creating custom made pieces if required.

It is RMD’s belief that each interior space is an individual reflection of client lifestyle and should not only present a dynamic and unique experience but also maintain the practical and well-considered planning required within a marine environment.
