80m Explorer Vessel Rainsford Mann Design has created a robust, go-anywhere Explorer Yacht capable of landing a 21m Sakorsky helicopter on the aft upper deck. Significant preliminary engineering has been undertaken to ensure that the 8.10 tonne weight of the helicopter can be sustained, thus fully adhering to the stringent regulations required for on-board landing. This vessel is very much designed with long-range expeditions in mind, with significant self-sustainability at sea required over long periods of time. The bridge has been conceived to feature the most up-to-date navigational equipment available, ensuring connectivity to the rest of the world during long cruises and therefore enabling the owner to continue working when aboard his yacht. Using a relatively wide body hull concept the yacht offers excellent stability by virtue of four dynamic stabilisers. The Explorer has been designed to incorporate a full range of energy-saving technologies, which take the yacht’s sustainability to new levels. This feature is closely associated with RMD designs, which now display the eco-yacht (eco-Y) marque. Electric azimuth drives, updated fuel storage for biodiesel, a wind turbine and solar cells are just a few of the environmental systems on board. The yacht comes with a fully-stocked tender garage aft, housing a 15m limousine tender and 12m sports tender along with all the other toys one would expect, which can be deployed via a side-opening garage door. The main deck aft enclosure features a fully equipped dive station, sea-sports lounge and spa facility where guests can relax prior to or after a dive. This area is directly connected to the tender garage below via a spiral staircase. Accommodation is set out to include one large owner suite forward with two bathrooms, lounge, office, and private gym plus spa, with additional accommodation for a further eight guests in four double cabins. Flexibility in the layout offers the opportunity to combine two guest rooms longitudinally to form two large VIP suites. On the upper and bridge decks, this yacht offers excellent guest spaces with stunning views culminating in an observation deck at its highest point. |
