Custom Sailing Yacht Currently under development, RMD is carrying out a speculative study of a new all hi-tech composite sailing yacht range, to include a sloop at 25m, a ketch at 35m and a mega sail yacht at 170m. For the smaller yachts in the series, the hull is designed for racing as well as leisure use, with an innovatively designed pilot house that can be lowered for race conditions. With all rigging being set below deck for an ultra clean look, these yachts will be truly state-of-the-art. The 170m concept brings together RMD’s knowledge of large yacht design with an innovative sail yacht concept thathas been conceived as a fractional ownership scheme. The accommodation will provide a series of duplex suites all with private deck space and plunge pools. Large public areas with a fully serviced galley and a choice of several dining facilities, a nightclub, bars, spa and sports facilities will provide 24-hour on-board entertainment. With side opening tender garages and aft drive in dock, the yacht will enable guests to arrive and alight with absolute privacy and efficiency by sea or air. RMD will provide a bespoke interior design service for each owner so they can personalise their own accommodation. |
